A Filter Tipped Beedie, compared to a normal beedie: takes 3 times longer to make. consumes about 50% more Khendu leaves. takes about 25% more shredded content.

Further, the R&D had been to ensure uniform and smooth burning from beginning to the end. For ages, tobacco beedies have been literally roasted in a coal fired furnace for the purpose of de-hydrating and bring out a special flavour which gets generated only when the khendu leaves and tobacco shreds are near-roasted. But for herbal beedies, the de-hydration process is a temperature control process which has been developed specially for herbal beedies, so that shell life and natural flavour of medicinal herbs are retained.
